About Us
Team Faith is a non-profit multi-faceted Outreach Ministry that impacts people who are enthusiastic about Action Sports. We started in 1994 in the Pro Personal Watercraft Racing industry and have migrated to the Pro Motocross Racing and Freestyle Motocross industries respectively. Team Faith’s vision is to establish evangelism teams of action sports athletes led by “Pit Pastors” (Chaplains), to infiltrate professional racing circuits and other action sports events.
In addition to ministering and competing on the National Arenacross Series, We have also competed on the Supercross Series with Kevin Johnson as our premier rider. Kevin Johnson is the 2008 X Games Gold Medalist in the Speed and Style Competition. 2011 saw the addition of Kelly Smith as our Arenacross/Supercross rider who won Arenacross Main Events in 2011, 2012 and 2013. In 2012 we signed Jeff Gibson to our Arenacross program and he finished 2nd in the Championship with multiple wins. In 2014 Gavin Gracyk replaced Jeff Gibson (who retired) on our Arenacross Program.
Team Faith also competes and provides Spiritual Services for the GNCC Off-Road Racing Series, where our UTV racing efforts have brought us the 2009 GNCC Lites Limited UTV Championship and the 2011 GNCC Lites UTV Championship with driver/Pit Pastor Chuck Lemaster and navigator Brian O’Rourke.
We also compete and minister to the Hydro Turf Watercross National Tour watercraft racing series. In 2010, in our first season back into racing PWC, founder Brian O’ won the Pro Hydo-X Racing Tour Sport Spec Championship. In 2013 Kelly Smith tried his hand at racing watercraft as well and finished 3rd in Overall Points for the Hydro Turf Watercross Nationals in both the Sport Spec and the Sport Open Spec classes and won the US National Championship in the Sport Open Spec class in Charlestoin, WV. He also finished 4th Overall in the same class at the IJSBA World Finals. Brian O’ finished 2nd in Overall Points for the Hydro Turf Watercross Nationals in both Sport Spec and Sport Open Spec classes and finished 7th Overall in the same class at the IJSBA World Finals.

Chaplaincy Programs
The original calling from God to Team Faith was to influence Pro racers to use thier God-given talent to glorify Him. Strategically, this is accomplished through our “Pit Pastors” who implement our Chaplaincy Programs at Pro events all over the US and Canada.
A Chaplain for the event has several duties:
-
He is consistent to appear at each and every event in a particular Series on a particular circuit. Consistency is the only way we are able to gain the trust of the riders, mechanics, families and industry personnel that participate in the events. It may even take years to have a “spiritual breakthrough” on a Series, but rarely it happens unless the participants can come to know and depend on the Chaplain to be there when they feel a need to share thier lives with him.
-
He preaches the Word of God Being bold enough to preach the Word is the only weapon against the enemy we have in our arsenal to thwart his efforts to keep this people group in the dark. Although many of these riders have not been to church because their lifestyle is to race every weekend, they are receptive to the Word of God. We have discovered that they truly desire to know God. Unfortunately, their perception of church, and ministers in particular is determined by what they have seen on TV, and heard about through the media. The true and living Word is the only thing that is capable of changing their perceptions.
-
He prays for everyone and makes it known that he is available for prayer and counsel anytime Typically, we station our Pit Pastors near the staging area for each race during the event so as to maximize our impact to pray with each and every rider, provided they indeed request prayer. Most riders want to prayed for before entering the race course.
-
He gets to know the riders and participants of the Series Practice sessions are a good time to casually mingle and get to know riders throughout the year as it is a low-stress event that riders are more at ease. There are other times a Pit Pastor will strategically make himself available throughout the event as well. It is the duty of each Pit Pastor to discern the best times to visit and socialize with the various members of the participants of each event, as to maximize his opportunities to be available for Christian Counsel to those individuals.
-
He must share the Gospel At some point during the Series, a Pit Pastor must give an opportunity for the participants to respond to the Gospel.
-
How are people going to be saved if they don’t hear the Gospel and have an opportunity to make a profession of their faith?

FMX Shows
In 2000, Team Faith started performing FREESTYLE MX Exhibitions at Youth Groups and other venues. Since then we have performed over 150 shows including Tours such as the Festival Con Dios Tour which visited 34 markets in 2002 and 24 markets in 2003. In 2004 and 2005 we performed at Festivals such as Spirit West Coast in Del Mar, CA which brought in over 45,000 spectators over a three day period, and Lifefest in Oshkosh, WI which brought in over 100,000 spectators over a three day period and Lifelightfest in Sioux Falls, SD which exceeded 200,000 people over a four day period.
Although those performances were primarily to Christian-oriented crowds, Team Faith has a burden to take its shows to more secular arenas in an effort to use the sport of motorcycle jumping to preach the Gospel to enthusiasts whom may have never heard the Gospel before. It is our goal to form alliances with such ministries as First Priority Ministries, Young Life, AWANAS, Campus Crusades for Christ, and others in an effort to reach the lost with the Gospel by utilizing extreme sports as the platform.
EVANGELISM via EXTREME SPORTS
Our goal is to STAND OUT – Appear similar, yet not the same as other FMX teams in an effort to be set apart from the rest of the world enjoying Action Sports.
John 17:15 I pray not that you would take them from the world, but that you would keep them from the evil one. 16 They are not of the world even as I am not of the world
Once we accomplish that goal, we PREACH THE WORD – Take every opportunity to utilize the gifts and talents God has given to speak the Truth in love to those who look up to you as an athlete so as to point towards your relationship with Christ.
Team Faith is available to perform Extreme Freestyle Jump Shows.

Truth
God’s Plan of Salvation
(Eternal Fellowship with Him)
The Bible says there is only one way to Heaven. Now that may sound rigid or harsh, but it’s true!
Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father but by me.” (John 14:6)
No matter how good a person you are, good works cannot get you into Heaven.
“For it is by grace you are saved through faith; and not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)
You see, God is so perfect and pure and Holy that He cannot be in the presence of sin. And He is so fair and just that He will judge everyone by the same standard, which is perfection! Since man is not, nor has ever been perfect, we are all going to be judged and sentenced to hell for our disobedience to God. If you’ve ever done even just one thing against His standard than you are, by definition a sinner, and God’s wrath remains upon you as judgement for doing what is wrong in His eyes.. That’s why we need Jesus. Jesus is God in the form of a man who came to this earth to live a holy and blameless perfect life. By dying on the cross, He took on the sins of the world as a substitute for us in the eyes of the Father!
To get to Heaven you must trust (accept) Jesus Christ! Here’s what you must do:
-
Admit you are a sinner (that you do not follow God’s commandments).
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” (Romans 3:23)
“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” (Romans 5:12)
“If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” (1 John 1:10)
-
Be willing to turn from your sin (repent or stop doing what God says is wrong).
Jesus said: “I tell you, no, unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:5)
“The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all men everywhere to repent:” (Acts 17:30)
-
Believe that Jesus Christ died for you, was buried, and rose from the dead.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
“that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9)
-
Through prayer, invite Jesus into your life to become your personal Savior.
“For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:10)
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)
What to pray:
Dear God, I am a sinner and need to be forgiven. I believe that Jesus Christ shed His precious blood and died for my sin. I am willing to turn from sin. I now invite you Jesus to come into my heart and life as my personal Savior.
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” (John 1:12)
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)
If you have received Jesus Christ as your Savior, as a Christian you should:
-
Read your Bible often to get to know Christ better.
“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15)
“Your word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” (Psalms 119:105)
-
Talk to God often in prayer (about everything going on in your life!)
“And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” (Matthew 21:22)
“Be anxious for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)
-
Be baptized, worship, fellowship, and serve with other Christians in a church where Christ is preached and the Bible is the final authority.
“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. (Matthew 28:19)
“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as you see the day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:25)
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” (2 Timothy 3:16)
-
Tell others about what Christ has doone for you! (don’t worry about what you don’t know…focus on what you do know! TELL YOUR STORY!)
“And he said unto them, Go into the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15)
“For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast of: for necessity is laid upon me; yes, woe is me, if I do not preach the gospel!” (1 Corinthians 9:16)
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” (Romans 1:16)
