THE TRUTH

God’s Plan of Salvation

(Eternal Fellowship with Him)

The Bible says there is only one way to Heaven. Now that may sound rigid or harsh, but it’s true!

Jesus said: “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father but by me.” (John 14:6)

No matter how good a person you are, good works cannot get you into Heaven.

“For it is by grace you are saved through faith; and not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” (Ephesians 2:8-9)

You see, God is so perfect and pure and Holy that He cannot be in the presence of sin. And He is so fair and just that He will judge everyone by the same standard, which is perfection! Since man is not, nor has ever been perfect, we are all going to be judged and sentenced to hell for our disobedience to God. If you’ve ever done even just one thing against His standard than you are, by definition a sinner, and God’s wrath remains upon you as judgement for doing what is wrong in His eyes.. That’s why we need Jesus. Jesus is God in the form of a man who came to this earth to live a holy and blameless perfect life. By dying on the cross, He took on the sins of the world as a substitute for us in the eyes of the Father!

To get to Heaven you must trust (accept) Jesus Christ! Here’s what you must do:

  1. Admit you are a sinner (that you do not follow God’s commandments).

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;” (Romans 3:23)

“Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:” (Romans 5:12)

“If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.” (1 John 1:10)

  2. Be willing to turn from your sin (repent or stop doing what God says is wrong).

Jesus said: “I tell you, no, unless you repent, you will all likewise perish.” (Luke 13:5)

“The times of ignorance God overlooked, but now he commands all men everywhere to repent:” (Acts 17:30)

  3. Believe that Jesus Christ died for you, was buried, and rose from the dead.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)

“But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)

“that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved” (Romans 10:9)

  4. Through prayer, invite Jesus into your life to become your personal Savior.

“For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10:10)

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” (Romans 10:13)

What to pray:

Dear God, I am a sinner and need to be forgiven. I believe that Jesus Christ shed His precious blood and died for my sin. I am willing to turn from sin. I now invite you Jesus to come into my heart and life as my personal Savior.

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:” (John 1:12)

“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” (2 Corinthians 5:17)

If you have received Jesus Christ as your Savior, as a Christian you should:

  1. Read your Bible often to get to know Christ better.

“Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth” (2 Timothy 2:15)

“Your word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” (Psalms 119:105)

  2. Talk to God often in prayer (about everything going on in your life!)

“And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” (Matthew 21:22)

“Be anxious for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:6-7)

  3. Be baptized, worship, fellowship, and serve with other Christians in a church where Christ is preached and the Bible is the final authority.

“Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. (Matthew 28:19)

“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as you see the day approaching.” (Hebrews 10:25)

“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:” (2 Timothy 3:16)

  4. Tell others about what Christ has doone for you! (don’t worry about what you don’t know…focus on what you do know! TELL YOUR STORY!)

“And he said unto them, Go into the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.” (Mark 16:15)

“For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast of: for necessity is laid upon me; yes, woe is me, if I do not preach the gospel!” (1 Corinthians 9:16)

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” (Romans 1:16)
